Senta Simond, née à Genève, a étudié l’histoire et l’esthétique du cinéma à l’Université de Lausanne avant d’obtenir un master en photographie à l’ECAL en 2017.
Cette même année, son travail est nominé au First Aperture PhotoBook Award lors de Paris Photo. En 2018, elle reçoit le Swiss Design Award. Son travail a été exposé, entre autres, à la Webber Gallery et à Peckham 24 à Londres, au Centre d’art Pasquart à Bienne, ainsi qu’au FOAM à Amsterdam, à la Danziger Gallery à New York et à la MEP à Paris. Son projet de diplôme a donné lieu à la publication « Rayon vert », salué par le British Journal of Photography comme l’un des meilleurs livres de l’année. En 2025, elle est à nouveau sélectionnée aux Swiss Design Awards.
Connue pour ses photographies du corps féminin qui interrogent les standards de beauté, Senta Simond s’intéresse dans sa dernière série au corps masculin. À l’automne 2025, elle publie « Blue Hour » aux éditions MÖREL. Cette série explore l’intimité, la vulnérabilité et la tendresse masculine, loin des représentations traditionnelles. Ses images capturent des instants de douceur silencieuse, évoquant la proximité et la confiance. Les jeux de matières et de lumière, comme des jeans usés ou des zones d’ombre naturelles, renforcent une sensualité discrète. À travers ce travail, Simond propose une vision plus nuancée, fragile et humaine de la masculinité contemporaine.

Her work has been exhibited at venues including the Webber Gallery and Peckham 24 in London, the Pasquart Art Centre in Biel, as well as FOAM in Amsterdam, the Danziger Gallery in New York and the MEP in Paris. Known for her photographs of the female body that challenge beauty standards, Senta Simond turns her attention to the male body in her latest series. In autumn 2025, she published “Blue Hour” with MÖREL. This series explores male intimacy, vulnerability and tenderness, far removed from traditional representations. Her images capture moments of quiet tenderness, evoking closeness and trust. The interplay of textures and light—such as worn jeans or natural shadows—reinforces a subtle sensuality. Through this work, Simond offers a more nuanced, fragile and human vision of contemporary masculinity.
